How to Find Hundreds of Freelance Clients to Pitch in 20 Minutes
At the start of my freelance career, pitching was my go-to marketing technique.
Instead of reaching out to “clients” (I say that in the loosest term) on crappy freelance sites and engaging in a very undignified race to the bottom, I could handpick the clients I wanted to work for and craft a unique pitch that positioned me as the perfect solution to their needs (whether they knew they needed me or not).
I get a lot of questions from readers and students today about how to find clients to pitch.
When I started getting these questions I was surprised — we have access to more information than ever before with the click of a button or the tap of a finger. There are millions of businesses in your niche (or, at the very least, hundreds or thousands), you just have to spend some time searching for them.
The truth is, there’s no secret trick to finding high quality clients. It’s all about knowing how to identify whether they’re going to be a good fit — but you gotta find them first to see if they’re a good fit, right?
These are the two quickest and easiest ways to gather a comprehensive list of potential clients in your niche to pitch (I offer several more ways to do it in my Pitch & Prosper program, but these are a very good starting point).
