A Week in the Life of a Freelancer
I published a post the other day that listed out the clients I was working with this month. The post proved to be really popular, so I thought I’d share some more personal insights into my freelance business.
Today, I want to share with you what a week of work looks like for me. I know a lot of freelancers do a “day in the life” posts, but every day is different for me.
You’ll get a better understanding of my schedule and workload if I list out my week.
Monday
7am — wake up and get ready (I don’t have a fancy morning routine, I literally have a shower and a cup of coffee and get the hell outta my house).
8.30am — get to my desk at my coworking space and have breakfast. Check my emails, Slack channels, and client messaging platforms while I have my breakfast and another cup of coffee (this time slot will be the same pretty much every day).
9am — write up two landing pages for a client. These pages are around 200–300 words each.
10am — publish a post on Medium and schedule some Tweets to go out throughout the day.
10.30am — have a cup of tea and start on a 2,000 word piece for a client I write monthly pieces about small business for. This time I’m writing about setting up a limited company (something I…
